SynthClub Performs at McLeod Residence
Band to Record Live Album During Performance

SEATTLE--January 25, 2007-- "Seattle's all-star, all-live house band" SynthClub, featuring Maktub's Reggie Watts and Daniel Spils, Decibel Festival organizer Sean Horton, and producer Steve Scalfati, will perform Thursday, February 15, with a 9:00 p.m. set time at McLeod Residence. McLeod Residence, Belltown’s newest art gallery, is located at 2209 2nd Avenue. Tickets are $5 at the door, payable by cash only.

SynthClub is a quartet creating sophisticated, supremely danceable house music for live audiences, a rare treat for electronic music fans who usually experience the genre in album form. The group features the vocal and synthesizer talents of Seattle notable Reggie Watts, spontaneous laptop beats from Sean Horton a.k.a.. DJ Nordic Soul, and off-the-cuff synthesizer work from Steven Scalfati and Daniel Spils. Eric Grandy of the Stranger describes the group as  “...smart, floor-filling,” and “...whose live take on vocal house is enough to win over skeptics of the genre"

In a twist that combines progressive house with a live Blue Note-style recording, SynthClub will record their performance at McLeod Residence and offer it as a free downloadable album at mcleodresidence.com.

McLeod Residence is a new concept of art and gathering space that opened January 5, 2007, in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Both McLeod Residence and SynthClub embrace technology, collaboration, art and the beauty of work in progress, and this marriage of venue and performer is a perfect fit. Currently on display at McLeod Residence is a group exhibit featuring photographs and digital art mounted on lightboxes, an installation by artist and musician Paul Rucker, and an exhibit of antique paintings curated by art dealer Jay Franklin. The gallery rooms will be open during the SynthClub performance.
